The Junkyard Bistro

This was the dinner recommendation from the woman at the hotel. The food was amazing!

The tables were full so they told us we could eat at the bar. A far cry from Oregon...

Custer Ghost Town

We had a root beer at the empire saloon in Custer. The was a big mining town at the end of the 1800’s. Now it’s a cool ghost town and historic site.

The Custer Schoolhouse (now a museum).

Yankee Fork Dredge

In use from the 1930’s to the 50’s, it’s been refurbished and set up for tours. We met some interesting volunteers. One guy grew up in dredge camp. His dad worked on it.

It’s hard to believe that it was run by a crew of 3 men!

Sunbeam Hot Springs

It was a good spot for lunch!

The hot water comes from a spring a little ways up river. It is pretty hot at the source so we ate down river where the hot spring water could mix with the cold river water.
