In use from the 1930’s to the 50’s, it’s been refurbished and set up for tours. We met some interesting volunteers. One guy grew up in dredge camp. His dad worked on it.
It’s hard to believe that it was run by a crew of 3 men!
The hot water comes from a spring a little ways up river. It is pretty hot at the source so we ate down river where the hot spring water could mix with the cold river water.
After coming through McCall yesterday and being overwhelmed by the traffic, crowds, and boats on the lake we were pleasantly surprised that 30 miles south it’s very quiet.
